Hi, I’m Bill Simmons, a native North Carolinian that has loved Topsail Island since childhood. Originally from Winston-Salem, my family and I relocated to Hampstead, on the mainland across from the Southern tip of the island, in 2018. With the help of my wife and daughters, I founded NorthBay Oyster Company in 2020. The global pandemic delayed our start-up and our first crop of oysters were planted in 2022.
Our vision is to provide exquisite quality oysters direct to consumers and restaurants. Our farm’s strong water flow and near-ocean salinity produces our wonderfully briny “Topsail Tumbler” oysters. One of the most gratifying statements I’ve heard repeatedly from our customers has been “these are the best oysters I’ve ever had”.
